CallerIDBlock

This is software that helps you block caller id to any number you want. Usually the caller id prevention on telephony service providers is restricted. This utility gives you the facility to set that individually.

CallerIDBlock allows you to selectively decide for which phone numbers CallerID of your phone number is sent and for which it is suppressed. The software will work on mobile devices that work with the Windows Mobile 5.0 & 6.0 for the PocketPC and SmartPhone platforms. The telephony service providers let you block the id for all numbers, or you can have the id enabled for a group of contacts or it is enabled for all. That may not be enough quite often and you want to block caller Id on a individual basis.

You are able to add phone numbers manually either by importing from some contact list or just by dialing the number. The newly dialed numbers have caller id blocked by the software. Imported contacts have the id enabled. The rationale being the contacts you have imported obviously been in use and are likely to be trusted and hence the caller id is enabled. Newly dialed numbers are the ones which are being used the first time so id is blocked as a cautionary measure. The software supports storage cards so that you could import contact data through that route too. The system has a multi-lingual interface that supports up to 140 languages. The interface is a simple one with add delete and change options to the numbers in the blocked list. You can search the list to find out if for a specific number the id is blocked or not. This is a handy little tool for a very specific use that works well.

This little utility is especially useful, since the standard phone CallerID feature is limited to only 3 rather restrictive options: No CallerID, CallerID for contacts only, and CallerID for all. Lets face it, in the real world you need to have
the flexibility to decide to send your CallerID for every phone number individually. For many
Telephone Service Providers (TSPs) even the restricted CallerID option will not work!
CallerIDBlock allows you to add phone numbers manually, by importing your contacts automatically, or whenever you dial a new number. Imported contact numbers do not block CallerID (by default), whereas newly dialed numbers automatically block CallerID.
